  New Sunset Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church in a low income, blue collar neighborhood. It was established in 1957 and has ministered in the neighborhood since then. Pastor Ed Talley has led the ministry of NSCC in a marvelous and spirit filled manner over the past seven years. During those years the congregation, led by the pastor, has led numerous lost souls to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ; and numerous family relationships have been salvaged and homes have been stablized and restored.
  
  New Sunset is a friendly goup and welcomes all who walk through its doors. When I retired as Director of Missions for the Greater Fort Hood Baptist Association, pastor Ed asked me to come on staff to direct the Educational Ministries of the church. This includes the Sunday morning Bible Study classes and the Wednesday night children's ministries. I have now served in that capacity as a volunteer for 3 1/2 years. I also assist the pastor in church administration functions. This includes acting as a mentor to the pastor in various church related situations. It has been a blessing to serve with Pastor Ed and watch the church grow numerically as well as spiritually. New Sunset is truly a lighthouse for the gospel in the neighborhood. It is a growing, vibrant church in the city of Killeen.

  The first event I went to at New Sunset was the Easter Outreach community event 2 Easter's ago. I couldn't believe all the people that came and how the church shared about Jesus in a fun way through the puppet show. I joined the church about a year ago because I love the way the people welcomed me and made me feel apart of the church. Also, under the leadership of Pastor Ed Talley, I have grown immensely. He and his wife have stretched me in ways the Lord has been wanting to stretch me. I love how mission minded the church is and the fellowship with the other members. I am so happy the Lord led me to New Sunset Community Church.

  I have been visiting Sunset Community Church since 2010. My first visit was during their community easter celebration one Saturday. Never have I felt so welcome. When I attended the Church I was overwhelmed. Everyone greeted me with open arms. The Pastor ( Ed Talley ) delivers a powerful sermon. God's presence is in this Church. Come and experience for yourself. I was baptized May 1st and am now becoming a member. Praise God.
